• Appearance: White crystal or powder.
• Solubility: Easily soluble in water, aqueous solution is weakly alkaline.
• Characteristics: Reductive, easily oxidized, decomposes in contact with acids.

2. Main Applications

• Printing & Dyeing Industry: Used as deoxidizer, reducing agent, and bleaching agent for fabric reduction cleaning, dechlorination, and anti-yellowing.
• Water Treatment: Used as oxygen scavenger for boiler feed water, dechlorination for tap water, reduction decolorization, and heavy metal treatment for wastewater.
• Paper Making Industry: Used as pulp bleaching dechlorination agent and cooking auxiliary to protect fiber and improve whiteness.
• Chemical Raw Material: Important raw material for producing sodium dithionite, sodium thiosulfate, hydroxylamine, etc.
• Food Industry (Food Grade): Used as antioxidant, preservative, and bleaching agent for preserved fruits, dried fruits, syrup, wine, etc.
• Pharmaceutical, Photographic, Leather, Electroplating Industry: Used as an antioxidant, reducing agent, tanning auxiliary, and electroplating additive.
